Emily Madsen
Certified Personal Trainer, NASM, Pilates Instructor
Emily is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She received her BS in Sports Medicine from John Brown University. She is also certified in the Functional Movement Screen (FMS). In addition to offering personal training, Emily is a certified Pilates Instructor with training in pre- and post-natal work. She teaches Mat Pilates classes at Trinity.
Originally from Tulsa, OK, Emily played basketball for John Brown University as a 4-year starting point guard. After tearing her ACL in high school and rehabilitating aggressively to continue pursuing a basketball scholarship, Emily was released from therapy but lacking in the speed, agility, strength, and confidence necessary at the collegiate level. A personal trainer helped her make those gains to return playing. This experience opened her eyes to the need for personal trainers to work together with physical therapists to see the patient’s full recovery. Whether your goals are centered on athletic performance, fitness, weight loss, or functional strength, Emily is here to help you.
Outside of work, Emily spends her time with her husband, Steven, and their three children. They serve their community alongside Bayleaf Baptist Church, where Steven is a pastor. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with friends.
